CICERO POLICE DEPARTMENT: SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY

e-Policing Program
The e-Policing program is a key element in communicating to and from the Town of Cicero residents with information on criminal activity. All residents are encouraged to participate in this Internet community. More information is on our e-Policing page

Volunteer in Police Services (VIPS) Program
The VIPS program encourages active involvement of Cicero residents in performing a variety of police services. These are uniformed volunteers. More information is on our VIPS page

Chief of Police Advisory Council (CPAC)
CPAC is a council comprised of Town of Cicero residents that advises and works with the Chief of Police on community policing initiatives. More information is on our CPAC page

Free Gun Locks
The Town of Cicero Police Department in conjunction with Project Child Safe is distributing FREE gun locking safety devices to any Town of Cicero resident.  Stop by the Police Department anytime Monday thru Friday 8:00 - 4:00 p.m. (except holidays) or call 315-699-3677, extention 11. 

Safety Audit
Any homeowner or business owner that would like a Safety Audit conducted at their home or business should call the Police Department anytime Monday-Friday, between 9:00-4:00 PM (except holidays) at 315-699-3677, extention 11.  If no answer please leave a message.  A Crime Prevention Officer will come to your home or business and provide you with information on how to make your home or business burglary proof. 

Vacation Housecheck Program
When you go on vacation or otherwise leave your house unoccupied for a period of time you may stop by the police station to fill out a Vacation Property Check Form (or download here), and your house will be put on our list of houses for routine checks. Sorry, this is for Cicero residents only.

Teenager "Home Alone" Program
This is similar to our Vacation Housecheck program, above. If you have one or more teenagers who will be alone in your home while you are away, stop by the police station to fill out a Teen Safe Initiative Home Safe Program Form (or download here) and your residence will be put on our list of routine checks. Sorry, this is for Cicero residents only.

Explorer Post 823
Cicero Police Explorer Post # 823 is comprised of members of ages 14 through 21. A candidate must have good standing in the community and maintain a passing grade in school. The post meets bi-weekly at which time Explorers go through training in all areas of law enforcement as well as assist the Cicero Police Department during community-related events.
